There’s so much going on here on the Sunshine Coast that it can be hard to keep track of it all. How many times have you missed an exciting event because you didn’t know it was happening? Well, there’s now a solution for that: The Sunshine Coast Regional Calendar Network.
This network is a coast-wide “one stop shop” for all kinds of events all along our coast: arts, sports, community, non-profit, government, festivals, fundraisers, courses… any kind of event you can think of. Visitors can search categories and locations to easily find events they’re interested in.
There is now a link to the Calendar Network here on the Community Resource Centre’s website and we are in the process of adding the calendar to other websites as well. No matter which website you use to visit the regional calendar, you’ll have access to the same comprehensive list of events.
Do you plan or host events?
The software we’ve used to build the calendar will synchronize with most online calendars. So if your organization already has an online calendar, it can be linked up so that your events show up and are automatically updated in the regional calendar. Simply email your calendar link to email@example.com and we’ll take care of the rest.
The network has many benefits to event planners! You may also find it useful to see when others are holding events, to avoid date conflicts when you plan yours. Visitors can search categories and locations to easily find events based on their needs and interests. The network can also provide connections to services that will enhance event planning such as local ride sharing and local ticket selling services.
Do you maintain a website?
Officially the project is called the Sunshine Coast Regional Calendar Network. Why do we call it a network? Because not only can you publish your events on the Regional Calendar, you can also put the whole calendar on your own website, for free.
This is an opportunity to increase traffic to your site, by inviting the public to visit the calendar on your site. Simply contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you the embed code to add it to your site.
