Rent Smart Education and Support Society believes in the transformative power of education to help individuals and families to find and maintain their housing, increase successful tenancies and prevent housing instability and homelessness. RentSmart courses teach tenants important skills to build their knowledge and confidence to find and keep housing. Participants learn how to find and apply for housing, to take care of their place, to budget and communicate effectively as well as to understand their rights and responsibilities. The RentSmart Certificate is recognized as a reference by some social housing providers such as BC Housing and CRD Housing. Depending on geographical location, RentSmart courses may be taken in-person, virtually or online.
