Connecting Self-Employed Women for Success
In 2015, following the recommendations identified in the Progress Plan (a community plan to improve the economic well-being of women on the Sunshine Coast), the Resource Centre applied for and received a second grant from Status of Women Canada aimed at increasing prosperity of women on the Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Coast has few well paid jobs, so many women here turn to self-employment, or to a mix of part-time work and self employment. This project aims to address some of the issues facing self-employed women and reduce barriers to their success. We also want to see women’s businesses recognized for what they are–vital drivers of the local economy.
The project started in March 2015, and concluded in October, 2017.
