I am a senior living on the coast. I live with my wife, whose mobility and memory are going. She relies on me for meals, to get around the house and now with managing a lot of our bills too. I am feeling overwhelmed, tired, and with COVID-19, very isolated. I don’t like asking for help, but at this point, I’m looking for advice on where to turn.
At the Resource Centre, we hear from so many caregivers here on the coast looking for help, and you are definitely not alone. Our “Caregiver Support Network” is a free and confidential service that can help address your concerns. Our trained coordinator, Michelle, will listen to you, hear your story and offer one-on-one support over the phone. Michelle is knowledgeable about caregiver resources here on the Coast. She can refer you to disease-specific organizations and support groups, and help you navigate the healthcare system. Michelle can also connect you to supports that can help with administrative matters and personal planning. We know that caring for a loved one can be challenging on so many levels. We also know that every situation is different. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us so we can help connect you with services locally that match your specific situation. I heard the Resource Centre can get me a free lawyer. Is this true?
