The Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (GWRC), founded by Clint and Irene Davy, has over 30 years of experience caring for orphaned and injured wildlife on the Sunshine Coast. Starting in 2025, the Centre is focusing on public education and fundraising to establish a new dedicated rehabilitation property.
TYPES OF POTENTIAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Basic Wildlife Care: Cleaning cages and aviaries, washing food and water dishes, preparing food for wildlife (approx. 9:00 am–1:00 pm daily).
Handyman/Maintenance: Repairs and upkeep of cages and aviaries.
Gardening: Weeding, trimming bushes, cutting grass.
Fundraising: Assisting with mall displays, yard sales, bake sales, and other events.
Driver for Pick-Up of Wildlife: Transporting injured wildlife from veterinary clinics or public locations on short notice.
Minimum age: 16 years.
Volunteers gain hands-on experience with wildlife care, contribute directly to animal rehabilitation, and join a passionate community dedicated to wildlife education and conservation. Your support helps GWRC continue its vital work and move toward establishing a new rehabilitation centre.
