VOLUNTEERING ON THE COAST
Our communities give so much to us; now it’s time to give back. By volunteering, you would help to improve the overall health and happiness not only of individuals but of our community as a whole. Volunteer Canada estimates that 65% of organizations are facing a volunteer shortage, and it puts non-profit services at risk.
Even the smallest of contributions can help us strive to create a more inclusive and equitable society. Remember – Every small action contributes to a larger outcome; whether it’s volunteering your time or sharing your knowledge, even modest, seemingly small gestures can create a positive chain reaction and inspire others to do the same.
Commitment expectations vary with each role and organization. That being said, there is always room for flexibility to accommodate busy schedules and family commitments. Do not let fear of commitment hold you back. Even if you can only volunteer an hour a week, every two weeks or a month, your time matters. Let us know how we can help set you up with a volunteer opportunity that works for you.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
- Interests and Passions: What issues or causes are you passionate about? Think about the skills, and knowledge you can contribute and think about the experience you would like to gain.
- Define Your Availability: Determine how much time you can commit to volunteering. Whether it’s a few hours a week or a one-time event. Knowing this will help you find suitable opportunities.
- Research Volunteer Opportunities: Don’t worry; we did it for you! Visit our Volunteer Resource Hub and see what organizations are operating in your area!

We understand that while it’s not always challenging to find volunteer opportunities, it can be challenging to find the perfect fit for you. Our goal is to simplify this process and connect you with the ideal opportunity.
