HOW TO DONATE A DEVICE

If you have an older unlocked phone, tablet, or laptop in working order that you would like to donate, we welcome your contribution at the Resource Centre during our drop-in hours, Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Before donating, please ensure to reset your device and remove any SIM and microSD cards. To streamline the process, we have provided a donation form that you can download here.

Please complete the form prior to bringing your device to the Resource Centre.

For desktop donations, please donate directly to the Sunshine Coast Computer Kindness Program, located in Roberts Creek. Visit their website to access their online donation form. The Sunshine Coast Computer Kindness Program also accepts donations of all other devices.

HOW TO ACCESS A DEVICE

The Computer Kindness Corner is a drop-off and pick-up location at 107A – 5710 Teredo Street, in Sechelt. Here, you can access a limited selection of older, refurbished phones, tablets or laptops at low or no cost.

  1. Visit or call the Resource Centre during drop-in hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our friendly staff and volunteers will assist you in completing a device request form.
  2. We’ll find you a device from the donations we receive for the CKC project. However, since we depend on donations from the community, we cannot promise that everyone who asks for a device will get one. But we will make our best effort to find one for you.
  3. We’ll contact you when a device has been refurbished and is available for you to collect from the Resource Centre.
  4. For phones and tablets, there is a nominal fee.

Stay tuned for our soon-to-be-released Technology Resource Guide to learn more about what technology and digital offerings are available on the coast.
