Each year, The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign raises essential funds to support local programs like the Food Bank, Lunch Program, Produce Line, and Emergency Assistance. The campaign relies heavily on volunteers to make it a success and directly impacts how many people can be helped during the winter season and beyond.
TYPES OF POTENTIAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Kettle Volunteer – Represent The Salvation Army at a designated location by collecting donations from the public during a scheduled shift. Volunteers must dress appropriately, be friendly, and warmly greet passersby.
Kettle Volunteer Administration – Assist with the behind-the-scenes coordination of the campaign. Tasks include creating and managing volunteer schedules, updating calendars, and communicating with volunteers by phone and email. Basic computer skills (Excel and Word) are helpful but not required.
Joining the Kettle Campaign offers a unique way to give back during the holidays. Volunteers play a direct role in raising funds that support critical local services, while spreading holiday cheer and kindness. Whether you’re out at a kettle stand or helping organize the schedule, you’re part of something that truly matters. It’s a flexible, short-term opportunity perfect for individuals, families, service groups, or workplaces looking to make a seasonal impact.
