VOLUNTEERING ON THE COAST

Our communities give so much to us; now it’s time to give back.

We understand that while it’s not always challenging to find volunteer opportunities, it can be challenging to find the perfect fit for you. Our goal is to simplify this process and connect you with the ideal opportunity. Let us know how we can help you get started! Volunteer Sunshine Coast is grateful for the support of the District of Sechelt.

How to get involved:
  1. Interests and Passions: What issues or causes are you passionate about? Think about the skills, and knowledge you can contribute and think about the experience you would like to gain.
  2. Define Your Availability: Determine how much time you can commit to volunteering. Whether it’s a few hours a week or a one-time event. Knowing this will help you find suitable opportunities.
  3. Research Volunteer Opportunities: Don’t worry; we did it for you! Visit our Volunteer Directory and see what organizations are operating in your area!

COMMITMENT EXPECTATIONS:

Commitment expectations vary with each role and organization. That being said, there is always room for flexibility to accommodate busy schedules and family commitments. Even if you can only volunteer an hour a week, every two weeks or a month, your time matters.

Fear of commitment holding you back? Join our Volunteer Callout List!

This is designed for people that don’t have a lot of spare time or don’t want to make a long-term commitment. These are one-time events or special projects that are only made possible by volunteers. Don’t worry, we will not clog up your inbox, these will only be sent out on a monthly basis. We will simply let you know what kind of events and opportunities are coming up and you can decide what is the right fit for you!

Remember – Every small action contributes to a larger outcome; whether it’s volunteering your time or sharing your knowledge, even modest, seemingly small gestures can create a positive chain reaction and inspire others to do the same.
