The SDBA advocates for the downtown area of Sechelt by organizing activities in the downtown Sechelt core that are intended to encourage business within the Business Improvement Area service area, providing educational and social events for the members of the SDBA, and representing downtown businesses on projects including public safety, revitalization, heritage conservation, economic development, community spirit and beautification.The SDBA runs an office with one part-time employee, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, made up of local business and property owners. The office hours at this time are by appointment.
