Lucie and her husband moved to the Vancouver area from England in 1975 and never looked back. After enjoying different lifestyles in Delta, Richmond and Vancouver they moved to South Surrey-White Rock area where they settled for 21 years. A friend moved to Gibsons and, after one visit, they were hooked and uprooted to Bonniebrook Heights in 2011. No turning back now. The Coast is home.
Lucie’s career spanned over forty years as a Human Resources professional working in a variety of business models including insurance and high tech. For almost 20 years she was the Director of Human Resources for a large non-profit in the Lower Mainland providing services to individuals with disabilities and managing a workforce of 400. After moving to the Sunshine Coast she was fortunate to take a senior position with Community Services prior to retirement. She joined the Board of the Resource Centre and stepped down after she was offered a position as Constituency Assistant with the federal MP Pamela Goldsmith-Jones. For six years Lucie supported Pam and then her successor Patrick Weiler before finally trying to retire in October 2020. Not to leave politics completely behind Lucie was recently sworn in as the Alternate Director for SCRD Area E – Elphinstone.
Lucie is privileged to be invited back onto the board of the Resource Centre and to, once again, contribute to our coastal communities as a volunteer. The information, referral and support provided by the centre are vital. Hopefully Lucie will still find time for her favourite activities – kayaking, walking, reading and cooking.
