Grounded Acres is a 3-acre organic farm growing over 60 varieties of mixed vegetables and berries for the Sunshine Coast community. We sell at the Sechelt farmers’ market, our farm stand, a weekly box program, and at local restaurants with the hope of growing sustainable food systems on the coast.

TYPES OF POTENTIAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

– Weeding

– Strawberry harvest

– General harvest (carrots, beets, radishes, etc.)

*To volunteer you must register for a 2-hour volunteer session through our website. You may choose to sign up for as few or as many as you like, no long-term commitment required.

All volunteers get to take free produce home after their session. Volunteers who commit to a minimum of 10 sessions across the year also get access to a free farm tour, strawberry u-pick, and year-end gathering.  Many volunteers express how much they learn about food cultivation from joining us on the farm, and will often bring their other gardening questions too!

All skills levels welcome; you don’t need to know how to farm, just to enjoy getting your hands dirty (or covered in strawberry juice)!  Youth of any age are welcome to join any of our volunteer sessions; anyone can farm if they’re interested! Youth under 14 must be accompanied by a grown-up.
